Project Background

A road construction contractor in Kenya required a durable geotextile solution for subgrade separation and stabilization in a highway section with soft soil conditions. The main challenge was to improve the road foundation and reduce deformation caused by traffic loads and poor drainage.

Solution

We recommended non-woven geotextile with excellent filtration and separation performance. The material was selected to prevent mixing of aggregate and subgrade soil while improving drainage under the road structure.

Installation Process

The roadbed was first prepared and leveled. The geotextile was rolled out directly over the prepared subgrade with sufficient overlap between adjacent sheets. After positioning, aggregate layers were placed on top of the geotextile carefully to avoid displacement. The road structure was then completed according to the construction plan.

Project Result

The geotextile helped improve road base stability, enhanced drainage efficiency and reduced long-term maintenance risks. The contractor was satisfied with the product performance and installation efficiency.
