The difference between rough geomembrane and smooth geomembrane
The difference between rough geomembrane and smooth geomembrane

1. Appearance
Rough geomembrane: The surface is rough, with obvious granularity, relatively dull color, and the overall appearance is rough. Rough geomembranes include single groove surface, double groove surface and stationary point.
Smooth geomembrane: The surface is smooth, the color is bright, and the overall effect is mirror-like. Both sides of the smooth geomembrane are smooth, with extremely high aesthetics.

2. Performance
Friction coefficient: Due to the rough surface, the friction coefficient of rough geomembrane is large, it is not easy to move and unfold, and it is more suitable for occasions that require anti-slip and fixation. The smooth geomembrane has a smooth surface and a small friction coefficient, which is easy to move and unfold.
Water permeability: Smooth geomembrane has good water permeability because it is not easy to attach debris to its smooth surface. The rough geomembrane has a rough surface, is easy to attach debris, and has relatively poor water permeability.
Corrosion resistance: Both rough geomembranes and smooth geomembranes have good corrosion resistance, but in some special environments, the corrosion resistance of rough geomembranes may be better.
Strength: Rough geomembrane may be slightly better than smooth geomembrane in strength, but both have high strength and can meet most engineering needs.

3. Application fields
Rough geomembrane: Mainly used in foundation reinforcement, roadbed protection and other fields, such as highways, railway roadbed protection, slope reinforcement and other projects. Its rough surface can provide better anti-slip effect and improve the stability of the project. In addition, rough geomembranes are also widely used in landfills, mining, heap leaching tanks, ash dumps, dissolution tanks, sedimentation tanks, and tailings linings.
Smooth geomembrane: Mainly used in anti-seepage, isolation and other fields, such as river management, reservoir anti-seepage and other projects. Smooth geomembrane has extremely low permeability, excellent chemical resistance and UV resistance, and has extremely high cost performance. It is the preferred material for anti-seepage in civil engineering projects. In addition, it is also widely used in environmental protection, municipal engineering, aquaculture, sewage treatment, gardening and water conservancy projects.

4. Cost and price
Rough geomembrane: Due to the high production difficulty and relatively high production cost, the selling price is usually higher than that of smooth geomembrane.
Smooth geomembrane: The production difficulty is relatively low, the cost is also low, so the selling price is relatively more affordable.
