1.Impermeability: Geomembrane is a geosynthetic material specially used to prevent water, liquid or gas penetration, with excellent impermeability.
2.Aging resistance: Geomembrane materials can maintain stable physical and chemical properties for a long time in a complex and changeable natural environment.
3.Corrosion resistance: Geomembrane has excellent corrosion resistance and can resist erosion by various chemical substances.
4.Puncture resistance: High-quality geomembranes can effectively prevent punctures from sharp objects and ensure the integrity of the impermeable layer.
Ⅱ. Application of geomembranes in wastewater treatment
1.Wastewater pool anti-seepage:
In wastewater treatment pools, geomembranes are used as impermeable layers at the bottom and side walls to effectively prevent wastewater from leaking into the ground and protect groundwater resources.
For example, in the wastewater treatment pools of farms (such as biogas pools, septic tanks, oxidation ponds, etc.), geomembranes effectively prevent the leakage and pollution of aquaculture wastewater with their excellent anti-seepage performance, aging resistance and chemical stability.
2.Artificial wetland anti-seepage:
In the water quality purification project of artificial wetlands of tailwater from sewage treatment plants, geomembranes are used for anti-seepage treatment of subsurface flow areas.
By adopting the combined process of "pretreatment system + subsurface flow artificial wetlands + surface flow artificial wetlands", geomembranes can effectively prevent sewage leakage and ensure the anti-seepage effect and sewage treatment efficiency of wetland systems.
3.Improve wastewater treatment efficiency:
Geomembranes can allow water molecules to pass through, while preventing soil particles, suspended matter and harmful substances from passing through, to achieve preliminary filtration and purification of wastewater.
This filtering effect helps to improve the efficiency of subsequent wastewater treatment processes and reduce treatment costs.
Ⅲ. Precautions for geomembrane construction
1.Material quality control: Before laying geomembranes, strict quality inspections must be carried out on incoming materials to ensure that there is no damage, no holes, and that they meet design requirements.
2.Foundation treatment: Before laying the geomembrane, the foundation needs to be leveled and compacted, and sharp objects, stones and other materials that may damage the geomembrane need to be removed to ensure that the base surface is flat and free of water.
3.Laying and welding: The laying of geomembranes should be done by hot-melt welding or special adhesive bonding to ensure that the joints are firmly sealed. When laying, sufficient overlap width should be reserved along the edge of the pool body, and the laying should be carried out strictly in accordance with the construction drawings.
4.Setting of protective layer: To prevent the geomembrane from being damaged during the construction process, a protective layer such as a fine sand layer or a gravel layer should be covered immediately after laying.
Ⅳ. Advantages of geomembranes in wastewater treatment
1.Environmental protection: The geomembrane itself is made of environmentally friendly materials, which is non-toxic and harmless, and will not cause harm to the environment and human health.
2.Economic efficiency: The geomembrane material is light, easy to lay and weld, which can greatly reduce construction time and labor costs.
3.Long-term effect: The geomembrane has excellent weather resistance and corrosion resistance, and can maintain its stable performance for a long time in various harsh environments.
